Where is the Eagle Valley complex located?
Directly across the street from the campus near the entrance to the King Community Center. The address for Eagle Valley is 150 and 151 Eagle Valley Rd., Cedar Bluff, VA 24609.
What is the style of the units?
Eagle Valley has two three-story apartment buildings with six apartments in each building.
Will they be furnished?
The units will come with refrigerator, stove, and a washer/dryer. The common areas are furnished with a table and chairs and a couch. Bedrooms in Eagle valley include beds, desks, desk chairs, and lockable dressers. Each bedroom has a locking door.
How long is the Lease?
A standard lease is 10 Months. Leases typically begin and end in alignment with the semester schedules of SWCC.
Will I have my own room?
Rooms are single- or double-occupancy (meaning that two students share a room ).
Single occupancy rooms are $900 each and you would have your own bedroom and private bathroom.
Double occupancy rooms are $600 each student and you would share a bedroom and bathroom.
How many units are available?
Eagle Valley can house up to 96 students.
Who is allowed to rent/live in these units?
These units will be available to all SWCC students.
How will each house/unit be assigned?
Bedrooms are assigned by gender, meaning double occupancy bedrooms will house two males or two females. The apartments will be filled in a single gender fashion first, but as occupancy increases there could be males and females in the same apartment (separate bedrooms), sharing common spaces.
Is parking available?
Parking spaces are provided near each building on a first-come first-serve basis.
Are pets allowed?
No, we are unable to accommodate any animals due to space restrictions and potential allergy concerns.
May I sublease?
No
Will there be rules?
Just like any other apartment complex and rental agreement, there will be written rules and standards that if not followed can result in eviction. Our policy manual is on this website.
What about utilities?
Sewage, water, electricity, and trash pickup, is included in the monthly rent. The utilities will be metered at each unit and will be subject to additional charges should there be excess usage.
What does it cost?
The monthly cost will be $900 per person in a single room or $600 per person in a double room for a 10-month lease.
Is transportation provided to and from Southwest Virginia Community College?
SWCC does not currently have a student transportation system, however, the Four County Transit Bus stops at Eagle Valley and SWCC three times per day during the week.
